Standard Seating

Extra Legroom Seat:

• If you want to enjoy extra legroom space, you can do it on Austrian Airline’s extra legroom seat. They are located in the emergency exit rows and have more legroom.
• The cost to make Austrian airline seat reservations in extra legroom seats can begin from €25 to €100 depending upon the route, flight segment, and other booking details.
• Any passenger, including pregnant women, bringing small children or animals, and travelers under 16 years, and who do not understand instructions in English or German cannot travel in a row with an emergency exit on an Austrian Airlines flight.
• If you’re a HON Circle Member and Senator, then you can reserve extra legroom seats free of cost on European flights (except for "Economy Light" fare) depending upon the availability.

Preferred Seating:

• With Preferred Seating, you can simply travel on your Austrian Airlines flight and leave the aircraft at your convenience after landing. Besides, the preferred seating zone is located in the Economy Class’s front part. And behind the Premium Economy class on long-haul flights and behind Business Class on medium-haul flights.
• Extra legroom seats are not a part of the preferred seating zone, and the cost for reserving preferred seats may range from €17 to €55 depending upon the route and other booking details.
• HON Circle Members and Senators can select seats in the preferred seating zone without paying a single penny, except in the "Economy Light" class.

Privacy Seat In Business Class:

The Privacy Seating in Business Class comes with a complete privacy environment and does not have any immediate neighbors. The seats are available on Window and Aisle at the same time, and one can enjoy peaceful and undisturbed travel. Besides, the seats also have a reclining feature and are available on Business Class on intercontinental flights.

The seat selection cost on Privacy Seating may range from €149 to €209, and HON Circle Members and Senators can make their privacy seat selection free of charge.

Complimentary Adjacent Seat:

One can book a free seat on Austrian Airlines next to their seats. However, the complimentary seating facility is only available through Austrian Airlines customer services. 

How to book a preferred seat with Austrian Airlines?

While check-in:

Do I have to pay for an advance seat on Austrian Airlines?

Yes, customers must pay an additional fee to book their seats on Austrian Airlines. If you book a flight within Europe, you must pay 14 EUR for an economy light seat. For intercontinental flights, the fee is as follows-

Intercontinental near distance:

• Economy class- EUR 17 
• Premium economy class- unavailable

Intercontinental medium distance:

• Economy class- EUR 33
• Premium economy class- from EUR 55

Intercontinental long distance:

• Economy class- EUR 39
• Premium Economy class- EUR 66
