Etihad Airways Cancellation Policy 24 Hours & Refund Policy

Etihad Airways has a flexible and feasible cancellation policy that allows free cancellation if your departure date is seven days away and you complete the Etihad flight cancellation within 24 hours of booking. 
  • The 24-hour cancellation policy applies to all ticket types, irrespective of their fare conditions during the purchase. 
  • If you fail to cancel the booking within the risk-free period, you must pay the cancellation charges depending on the ticket type. 
  • If you cancel a booking due to the grief or death of a family member or passenger, the airline cancels the charges, and you are eligible to get a refund.
  • If you fail to cancel the booking before departure, you will be considered a no-show, and the ticket value will be forfeited.
  • The cancellation policy applies to the ticket you purchased directly from Etihad airways. It is not applicable for tried-party bookings.  

How much does Etihad charge for cancellation? 

Etihad does not charge any cancellation fee if you complete the cancellation within 24 hours of booking, and departure is seven days away. However, if you fail, the Etihad flight cancellation fee applies based on ticket type, route, destination, etc. Additionally, you also need to pay the service charges of around $ 30 and an extra $10 (if you cancel the booking within 96 hours of departure)

Yes! Etihad Airways provides a full refund if you cancel your ticket within the same day of booking and the ticket is booked seven days before. Here are the steps to get a full refund from Etihad airways. 
  • Get on the Etihad Airways website and look for the refund page 
  • You can open the refund request form on the screen.'
  • Fill in the details and attach any relevant documents 
  • You can then submit the form once the details are filled up
  • The Etihad team will review your firm and initiate the refund to your original payment mode
  • The refund generally takes 14-30 wording days.
Etihad Airways also provides a full refund if your flight is delayed for more than three hours or canceled due to technical reasons or other issues within Etihad's control.
